The gaps in the journey

We consider five key things a buyer needs to be confident in before they commit and we map them to the stage of the journey that's relevant. The first thing the audit does is show you which questions your sites answers best and worst, and where in the journey is most important to fix.

Who is arriving and what they are asking

We consider who your audience is and the questions specific to your product/industry that they would ask themselves when they are on your site. Every finding that follows is judged against this, so you can see why each one matters and who it matters to.

Invoicing Tool Sample Audit · The buyer
A freelancer landing on the invoicing tool's site works through five questions, roughly in this order
  1. "Is this for someone like me, or is it another accounting tool?" They've opened Xero once, found it built for bookkeeping, and closed it.
  2. "What does it do that the tools I already have don't?" The bar is "is this different enough to move for", not "is this good".
  3. "Will my clients actually pay faster, or is that just the pitch?" Money arriving sooner is what's being bought.
  4. "Can I try it before I commit to a monthly fee?" Small but recurring, on a business that watches its cash flow.
  5. "If I put my clients and my billing through this, is it safe?" It arrives late and quietly, and stops sign-ups without being said out loud.

Each finding mapped to your pages

Every finding is annotated against a screenshot of your page, showing where the gap/opportunity is, and which buyer question it leaves unanswered. We aren't giving you generic best practices, we highlight exactly where on the page you need to look and why it can stop a potential customer continuing.

  • 1The trial is missing from the decision. It's documented in the help centre and appears nowhere on this page.

Concluding with a high level summary

The final section of the audit takes a step back from the individual findings and says what the overarching finding it, where you are weakest and why that is holding you back.

Invoicing Tool Sample Audit · In summary
Closing perspective on the invoicing tool's site
The offer is stronger than the journey communicates

The site has a differentiator its named competitors don't, a founder who can explain the category in six sentences, a help centre that answers the hard questions, a privacy position that settles the biggest objection, and a free trial that removes the risk. Almost none of it is in the buyer's path.

The gap is framing, sequencing and placement, not substance. The opportunity is to make the journey reflect the quality already in the offer.

Here's what we found in recent audits

  1. 01

Every "Get started" button landed on a sign-in page that said nothing about price, trial or what happens next.

Do I know what to do next?Invoicing software for freelancers
  2. 02

A $2,700 plan sat next to the Start button, so starting read as committing to $2,700. The button actually committed the visitor to $299 and a conversation with a doctor.

What am I committing to?Preventive health clinic
  3. 03

The size selector mixed two sizing systems, on the one product a buyer most needs to get right before paying.

Do I understand what I'm buying?Menswear retailer, 30 years old
  4. 04

The proof was one testimonial: no rating, no customer count, no press. The privacy policy's promise that invoices never train an AI model, the reassurance that mattered most, sat in the legal pages and nowhere on the homepage.

Can I trust this?Invoicing software for freelancers
  5. 05

The money-back guarantee sat under the price, written as a refund policy. What you actually get before any testing, a consult with a doctor and a plan you keep either way, was never put forward as a reason to start.

If you want to talk it through, you'll be able to book a 30-minute call. It's optional.

What's the catch?

There isn't one. The conversion audit is the first thing Pleras does for every customer, so we already do this work. If it turns out we can help fix what we found, we'll say so. The audit will always be yours to act on however you like.

We built this because we needed it

Pleras comes from three co-founders who've spent years growing products, as founders and as operators. As founders, we scaled early-stage startups with one question always in mind. How do we grow as fast as possible? As operators, we ran growth inside scale-ups and brought experimentation to teams that had never done it. We worked with consultants and agencies, then built the whole process in-house.

After a while, capacity became the limit. So we built the growth teammate we wish we'd had, and that's how Pleras was born.

Common questions

What is a CRO audit?

A conversion rate optimisation (CRO) audit is a review of your website that finds why visitors don't do what you need them to, such as sign up or buy, and what to change so more of them do. Ours goes through your site the way a customer would, from the first page to the moment they pay, and sends you the findings as a report: where people hesitate or leave, what's causing it, and what to fix first.

How long does it take?

One day from when you submit.

What do you need from me?

Your website and the metric you want to improve. No analytics access, no call, no logins.

What happens after?

You get the audit by email. A call is offered, not required.

Is it really free?

Yes. The audit is the first step of what Pleras does for every customer, so the work is already part of how we operate. See why it's free.

What is Pleras?

Pleras analyses your site and finds opportunities to help you grow, then builds on-brand A/B tests to get you there. Ready to review and put live the same day. Find out more here.
